SUPPORTING ARTISTS
Up in The Airlock (UITA) is a live in the studio performance series recorded and filmed at Ian Haug’s Airlock Studio’s. The aim of these sessions is to showcase both local and national acts performing a 15-45 min set in a studio environment that captures the intimacy, personality and technicalities often missed at a live show.
Each session will be released on YouTube and be accompanied by exclusive behind the scenes footage and interviews shot at the studio. You can submit an application online to be considered for future seasons. Directed by Natalie Sim (MTMM) and produced by Alex Flamsteed (MTMM).
WHAT IS 'UP IN THE AIRLOCK'?
Up in The Airlock is a monthly, live in the studio performance recorded and filmed at Ian Haug’s Airlock Studio’s. Airlock Studios and MTMM Entertainment have teamed up to help showcase Brisbane’s vast music scene.
The aim of these sessions is to showcase both national and international acts performing their set in a studio environment that captures the intimacy, personality and technicalities often missed at a live show. Our sound engineers and film production team work with the artist to make each session personalised to the act, keeping each session different and allowing the artist to put their individual stamp and personality on the performance.
Up in The Airlock caters to all genres and will feature solo artists through to large line ups with multiple musical sections to ensure diversity in all fields. Taking inspiration from other successful live sessions such as Tiny Desk Presents & Live on KEXP; our goal is to become Australia’s go to live session platform with a continuous stream of the best music from around the world.

HOW WILL FANS WATCH?
Each month we will premiere a full 15-45-minute set on YouTube.
The monthly live sessions from diverse acts will see the channels subscribers grow to cater to a wide demographic of music lovers and fuel cross promotion between artists.
A digital promotional strategy has been developed with a marketing expert to tailor content that represents Up in The Airlock’s voice with highly shareable content at the core of the promotional strategy. The digital campaigns will be geo-targeted to ensure media spend is strategically aligned with local music events as well as steering audiences to YouTube for immediate consumption.
Airlock Studios was established 20 years ago in 1998 by Ian Haug- Powderfinger & The Church guitarist. Based in the lush surrounds of the Samford Valley, only 20 minutes north the Brisbane CBD,Airlock features a large, comfortable control room, 2 different recording spaces and an isolation booth, as well as two separate additional isolation areas.
The recently renovated, world class facilities at Airlock Studios will be the setting for the live sessions. With the support of Ian Haug and his team of engineers the space will give itself over to some of Brisbane’s (and the worlds) best and well known artists and performers. It’s as Brisbane as it gets, reminding everyone again that Brissy does it best.
